Visit the Family Zone at the Trail Market on the Esplanade again this year. For the third year running, local early childhood service providers will provide the popular Trail Market on the Esplanade with a dedicated Family Zone this summer. The Trail Area Health & Environment Program, Family Action Network, and Greater Trail Success by 6 Early Years’ Coalition along with other partners are behind this enhancement for families attending the Market.

“Parents with young children can stop into the Family Zone to find age-appropriate toys, games and information about local programs and resources” says Cindy Hall, Community Program Representative for the Trail Area Health & Environment Program.

The Family Zone offers a family-friendly area to enjoy while at the market.  In addition to a variety of activities for children, there will be a quiet place for a parent or caregiver to feed an infant and easy access to information about local programs and services focusing on early childhood development in our region.

“This initiative demonstrates the collaboration that takes place between our local service providers on a regular basis” says FAN’s Executive Director, Christy Anderson. “We have a vision of our region as the best place to raise a child and are happy to work together to offer this Family Zone at the market this season.”

The Family Zone is situated on the grassy area next to the new Trail Riverfront Centre; look for the ‘Family Zone’ sign during the three markets this year, Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 6, July 11 and Aug. 8. For more information, please contact:  Cindy Hall, Community Program Representative for the Trail Area Health & Environment Program 250-368-3256.
