National Seniors Day celebrations come to West Kootenay

For the second year in a row, BC Transit, the City of Nelson, the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary and the Regional District of Central Kootenay are proud to celebrate National Seniors Day in West Kootenay.

On Friday, September 30, 2016, BC Transit and its operating partners will take part in the second Annual Nelson & Area Kootenay Seniors Fair, being held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Prestige Lakeside Resort & Convention Centre.

BC Transit, the City of Nelson, and Regional District of Central Kootenay will be bringing two buses to the fair where staff will be available to answer questions about conventional fixed-route service and accessible transit options including handyDART.
 
On Saturday October 1, 2016, BC Transit, together with the City of Nelson, the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary and the Regional District of Central Kootenay, will be offering free rides to all seniors in support of National Seniors Day.
 
To enjoy this free service, simply present a valid, government-issued ID indicating that you are 65 years-of-age or over.
