The Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited and A.M. Ford will be partnering to help raise money in support of the Beaver Valley Nitehawks as part of Ford’s Drive One 4 UR Team program. Greater Trail community members will have the opportunity to participate and help raise up to $6,000 for the sports team by test driving a Ford vehicle. A.M. Ford will be working with the Beaver Valley Nitehawks to host the one-day event that will take place on September 25, 2010.

Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited and A.M. Ford will donate $20 to the Beaver Valley Nitehawks for every person from a unique household who takes part in the test drive. Participants will be able to select from a range of new Ford vehicles. All money raised will go towards providing funding for the volunteer hockey organization.

In addition to raising much-needed revenue for the Beaver Valley Nitehawks, Ford of Canada’s Drive One 4 UR Team program also gives participants the chance to take a look at Ford’s exciting new cars and technologies. Just one example is the Fiesta, the vehicle that is setting a new small car benchmark for safety, connectivity and powertrain technology. Available in four- and five-door body styles, the Fiesta offers buyers a stylish new choice of 15 class-exclusive technologies and projected highway fuel economy of up to 55 mpg.

“We’re excited to help raise money for the Beaver Valley Nitehawks and at the same time showcase our innovative lineup,” said Dan Ashman, dealer principal at A.M. Ford. “The hockey team is well regarded in this community and we’re very proud to show our support for these young athletes. We know how costly this sport can be for families and events like this are needed to help young players achieve their goals of advancing to higher levels of hockey.”

The event on September 25 will be held at 8000 Highway 3B, beside the Waneta Plaza mall. It will start at 9 a.m. and end at 5 p.m. Snacks including sausages on buns will be served with pops for $5.

Last month, a Drive One 4 UR Team event was held for the Trail Smoke Eaters and more than $4,000 was raised. A successful campaign in the U.S., this is the first year that the Drive One 4 UR Team program and its affiliate, Drive One 4 UR School, are being introduced in Canada.
