Police release photo of ATM robbery suspects

Police have released security camera photos relating to four ATM beark-ins and thefts through out the region in recent weeks, including one at the regional airport in Castlegar.

They also described the car as a silver, four-door, full-sized sedan, with no tinted windows.  The vehicle appears to be a 2004 or newer model Mercedes CLO 320 .  The car may have lower profile tires and silver rims.

 Anyone recognizing the suspects or the vehicle is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.   “Police are also asking the public to report to police any suspicious persons, vehicles or activities around banks, financial institutions or businesses where ATMs are located,” said RCMP Staff Sgt. Dan Seibel.

This, as part of an  RCMP investigation into the Kootenay Boundary area Automated Teller Machine (ATM) thefts. The four offences took place as follows: Kootenay Regional Airport in Castlegar,  theives targeted a stand alone ATM on Sept. 10 at 1130 p.m. ; the Kootenay Savings Credit Union ATM at Hwy 3A/ Hwy 6, South Slocan on Sept. 12 at 1:36 a.m.; at  Kootenay Savings Credit Union night deposit box – Waneta Mall in Trail on Sept 12 at 4:30 a.m.; and the Heritage Credit Union ATM , South Slocan on Sept. 14 at 1:25 a.m.
