POLICE: Search leads to grow op bust

Two local residents have been arrested after RCMP searched their home in Grand Forks. A 34-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man were charged with theft of hydro, production of marijuana and possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance.

The search was conducted by the Grand Forks and Kootenay Boundary regional detachment officers of the RCMP on Jan.15 at 11:15 a.m. on Sleepy Hollow Road. 

The search resulted in the seizure of 437 marijuana plants near maturity and the discovery of a hydro electricity bypass.

The man was also arrested for theft on an unrelated investigation.
