Just when flood victims thought it just couldn’t get any worse, Environment Canada has issued a Rainfall Warning for Tuesday, June 26.

The Environment Canada  website said a northeast-moving low pressure system over the Pacific northwest will spread rain at times heavy to West Kootenay, the southern sections of Kootenay Lake, Eastern Kootenay and Elk Valley starting Tuesday morning.

Environment Canada intially predicted the system to drop amounts rain in range of 20 to 40 millimeters by late Tuesday night. That estimate was increased to 30 to 50 as of Tuesday morning’s warning.

Wednesday, conditions are expected to dry out somewhat with a chance of showers before a mix of sun and cloud Thursday.
