Castlegar, get your Pride on next Friday!

Once again, Castlegar will be joining in on the Kootenay Pride celebration this Labour Day long weekend. Castlegar is starting the Pride weekend with a bang, hosting the first party of the festival at the Element Club, Bar & Grill on Friday, Aug. 30.
This year’s theme is Cirque de SoGay, featuring the unstoppable Conni Smudge, who made an impromptu performance last year, and was invited back to dazzle audiences once again.
Joining this fantastic drag queen are a host of other performers geared toward the circus theme, such as local acrobat Connor, and hula-hoop artist Kassandra.
Once again, Castlegar will see a photo booth to help preserve the moments and memories with friends, provided by Joa Photography & Designs.
DJ Coleo and DJ Rhapsody supply the soundtrack until the early hours.
Costumes are encouraged, but not required, as you’re all beautiful just as yourselves. Doors open at 10 p.m. with a $20 cover. Come to Cirque de SoGay and Live, Laugh and Love at this year’s Kootenay Pride. See you there!
