Fire ban forces cancellation of Canada Day fireworks

This notice is to inform the public that, due to the Ministry of Forests’ recent fire ban in the area, the Gyro Park fireworks display scheduled for the Canada Day celebration on Wednesday, July 1 has been cancelled. The other Canada Day festivities, scheduled to take place at Kiwanis Beaver Creek Park, will still proceed as planned.
We understand the fireworks cancellation is disappointing; however, with the extreme heat in the short and long term forecast for this area, it is imperative that all precautions are taken to keep our community and citizens safe.
