Original Story:

RCMP in Prince Geroge are urgently asking for the public’s assistance to locate a female kidnapped from the local hospital.

Cpl. Craig Douglass  said just before 1 p.m. on Sunday (March 20th) the RCMP received a report of a possible kidnapping from the University Hospital of Northern BC on Edmonton Street in Prince George.

Police were advised that an adult male was seen pushing an adult female in a wheel chair out of the hospital and forcing her into a vehicle against her will. Checks with the hospital have found that a 50-year-old female Prince George resident is unaccounted for.

She was not discharged and is in need of medication.

The investigation has led officers to believe that the suspect is Lash Leroux.  Leroux is a Prince George resident and is described as:

  • 44 years old
  • 178 cm (5’10”)
  • 82 kg (181 lbs)
  • Brown eyes
  • Brown hair

Douglasss said Leroux is considered VIOLENT and should not be approached.  The suspect and victim are known to each other.

Douglasss said the vehicle is described as a late 80’s or early 90’s red Honda hatchback bearing BC licence plates 425 FRH.  Police computer checks of those plates have found them to have been reported stolen.

Police are asking anyone that locates the suspect or the vehicle to call 9-1-1 immediately.  Once again, do not approach the suspect.

Douglasss said  anyone with information about this Criminal offence, should contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477, online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca (English only), or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES (274637) using keyword “pgtips”.
