The need for speed was a costly one for a Montrose man last week, police say.

“On Friday, May 6, 2022, at approximately 12:22 p.m., a Trail and Greater District RCMP officer was conducting a routine traffic patrol when he observed a 2008 yellow Lotus sports car travelling at 122 km/h in a 60 km/h zone, in the 3000 block of Hwy 3B in Trail,” said Trail RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich. “The officer detained the 54-year-old Montrose man and his Lotus roadside for speeding roadside.”

He said the man was issued a $483 fine for Excessive Speed contrary to Section 148(1) of the BC Motor Vehicle Act and the Lotus was impounded for up to seven days.

Trail RCMP will be out conducting traffic enforcement as the busy summer months’ approach. Please watch your speed and be considerate of other drivers on the roadway.
