Smokie Warrener Commits to Alaska Anchorage for 2024-25 Season
The Trail Smoke Eaters are proud to announce that defenceman Ethan Warrener (’03) has committed to the University of Alaska Anchorage for the 2024-25 season.
Warrener is in his third season with the Trail Smoke Eaters and heads the leadership group as Captain. The Calgary, Alberta native has played all of his 127 BCHL games in a Trail Smoke Eaters uniform and has posted 10 goals and 20 assists for 30 points in 46 games this season.
“I am beyond honoured and proud to annouce my commitment to the University of Alaska Anchorage. I’d like to thank the entire Trail Smoke Eaters staff and organization. Coach Tim: Thank you for believing in me and providing me the opportunity to develop my game for NCAA Division-I hockey. A special thanks to my skating coach, Tim Murray; my trainer, Billy Kim; and my skills coach, Dean Seymour for your countless hours. I would also like to thank my friends, family and previous coaches for always believing in me. To my billets, Grandpa Dave and Corrie: Thank you so much. Gpa Dougie and Gma for staying up late to watch all my games. Gma Judy: I know you would be proud. Last but not least: My mom, dad and brother Dax for all the sacrifices they have made to this point in my career,” said Warrener

Ethan is our team leader, plays in all situations and exemplifies what it means to be a Smoke Eater. The Smoke Eaters next game action is on the road in Salmon Arm Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m. PST and will be available FloHockey and Mixlr. The next Smoke Eaters home game is Saturday, March 16 vs the Cranbrook Bucks at 7 p.m. PST. Good seats are still available at Tickets.TrailSmokeEaters.com.
