Obituary: Dianna Rose Edwards, August 2, 1943 – August 1, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dianna Rose Edwards, who peacefully left us on
August 1, 2024, one day short of her 81st birthday. Dianna was a beloved mother, grandmother, great
grandmother and friend.
Born on August 2, 1943, Dianna grew up in Vancouver, BC, where she developed a lifelong love for
gardening, food and family, as well as an impressive talent for race car driving. She was known for her
warm, generous spirit and her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Dianna’s kindness
touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her, and her home was always open, filled with love
and laughter. Her strength, compassion, and positive outlook on life despite a life-changing diagnosis of
early-onset Parkinson’s disease in 1997 were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Dianna was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert (Bob) Edwards, with whom she shared many
wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life full of love, watching their family grow with the
addition of four grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was a guiding light for her family, offering
wisdom, support, and unconditional love.
She is survived by her son Clay (Wendy) Scott and daughter Leanne Reitan, her grandchildren Justin
Scott, Alex Reitan, Linda Reitan, and Jameson Scott, and her great grandchild Cyril Scott. Dianna’s legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Inurnment will take place in a short ceremony at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Burnaby, B.C. at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 27th , 2024. A light lunch and remembrance gathering will follow at a nearby location, please email charlierosa1943@gmail.com for directions and to let us know you’re coming.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dianna’s memory to the Parkinson Society
of B.C. at https://www.parkinson.bc.ca/donate/ , a group that supported Dianna emotionally and gave
her great comfort during the early years of her diagnosis.
Dianna will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever be a part of all who loved her.
