Road rage leads to serious head injury

On Saturday, Oct. 20, at 10:25 a.m., a frontline Trail and Greater District officer received a report about a road rage
incident that occurred on Hwy 3B, in Trail, according to RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.
He said a 51-year-old Trail man was driving his vehicle eastbound on Hwy 3B when he observed a silver/champagne-coloured Subaru Forester/Outback driving erratically. He alleged that he was cut off by the Subaru. The man decided to follow the Subaru in order to obtain the license plate number.
The driver of the Subaru pulled over to the side of the road near the intersection of Hwy 3B and Marcolin Drive. The man pulled over as well, and exited his vehicle. When he approached the other driver, a man, and his wife, he discovered she was recording the incident on her phone. The man allegedly pushed woman’s phone out of his way and was subsequently allegedly pushed over by her husband. The man fell over backwards and hit his head.
The 51-year-old Trail man attended the Trail Detachment to report the incident. Officers assessed his injury and contacted EHS. EHS attended and transported the man to the local hospital as he required medical treatment for his injuries.
The matter remains under investigation.
