On Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, at 11:44 p.m., frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officers responded to a report of a 40-year-old Trail man who was allegedly causing a disturbance outside a residence in the 400 block of Buckna Street in Trail, according to RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich. He said the man was reported to be armed with a knife, intoxicated by alcohol and had an outstanding unendorsed warrant for his arrest.

“When the first officer arrived on scene, she observed the man attempting to start a motorcycle and flee,” he said. “The officer quickly intervened and placed the man under arrest. As she approached the man, he allegedly assaulted her and attempted to then flee on foot. The officer, with the assistance of two additional officers who had arrived at the scene, subdued the man a short time later.”

The officers took the man into custody. He later appeared before a judge and was detained into custody.

“Trail RCMP will submit a report to Crown Counsel requesting approval of criminal charges related to the incident.”
