A two-vehicle MVI in Genelle this afternoon sent two people to hospital, according to Cpt. Grant Tyson of Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue.

Tyson said the call came in at 12:14 p.m., with crews arriving on scene at 12:20 p.m., to Hwy 22 and 12 Avenue. 

One occupant had to be extracted using the Jaws of Life, and two people were transported to KBRH by BCAS.

Three Vancouver Island men have been charged for running a cryptocurrency-funded dark web drug trafficking ring.

In early 2019, BC RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime (FSOC) - Cybercrime Operations Group initiated an online undercover investigation into an international dark web organized crime group with the vendor name AlwaysOverweight.

Starting June 6 until August 12, advance bookings will no longer be needed to access the pool at the Trail Aquatic & Leisure Centre. Increased aquatic staff for the summer allows for this change. On August 13, the pool will close until September 11 for its annual maintenance shutdown and will reopen on September 12.
