Every March and September, police across BC participate in the Distracted Driving and Occupant Restraint enforcement campaign.
This September is no different, and police across the Province will be conducting intensified distracted driving enforcement in your area.
A collision between four vehicles has left one driver dead, four others injured and closed the highway between Golden and Revelstoke this morning.
Just after 8 a.m. Sunday morning, frontline officers from the Golden RCMP were called to assist BC Emergency Health Services in 1000-block of the Trans Canada Highway for a report of a collision between a pick-up truck and a motor home.
On Aug. 30, 2021, shortly after 6 p.m. Creston RCMP Frontline members and BC Ambulance received a report of an unresponsive child at a campground east of Creston.
Premier John Horgan has issued the following statement in support of healthcare workers in light of protests:
"Health-care workers have been true heroes throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, working long hours in difficult conditions to care for us, our loved ones and to keep our communities safe.
The Government of British Columbia has extended the provincial state of emergency through the end of the day on Sept. 14, 2021, to support the ongoing co-ordinated response to the wildfire situation and to ensure public safety.

Starting Sept. 13, 2021, proof of vaccination will be required in B.C. for people attending certain social and recreational settings and events.
This important step will continue to increase the vaccination rate across the province and provide confidence to fully vaccinated people that those around them are also fully vaccinated.
Starting on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, the Province invites British Columbians to share their thoughts on the future of the civil jury process.
This public consultation is the next step in a process to determine what measures, if any, should be implemented by the Province in relation to civil juries to support courts and the individuals who use them.
