The B.C. government is declaring a provincial state of emergency to support the provincewide response to the ongoing wildfire situation.

Mike Farnworth, Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General, made the declaration on July 20, 2021, based upon the recommendation from the BC Wildfire Service and Emergency Management BC.

Evacuation Orders have been issued for 100 Mile House region by the Cariboo Regional District

An Evacuation Order has been issued by the Cariboo Regional District in several areas. For your own safety, 100 Mile House RCMP asks that people stay away from the evacuation areas until you are notified that it is safe to return.

To help people affected by the wildfires burning around B.C., the Province will match all donations to the Canadian Red Cross, up to $20 million.

The matching funds will be retroactive to donations received since July 3, 2021, when the Red Cross' British Columbia Fires Appeal began.

Today the RCMP announced the appointment of Assistant Commissioner Dwayne McDonald who will be the next Commanding Officer of the RCMP in British Columbia. A/Commr. Dwayne McDonald will assume the rank of Deputy Commissioner when he takes over command from D/Commr.
