Highway 3A/6 open to traffic

DriveBC website now shows Highway 3A/6 near the Beasley Fire Hall, closed Wednesday night and into early Thursday morning due to a two-vehicle accident, is now open.

Traffic through most of the night was forced to detour using Beasley Road while a police reconstruction assessement team viewed the accident scene.

Major accident closes Highway 3A/6 west of Nelson

Highway 3A/6 near the Beasley Fire Hall has been closed due to a vehicle accident Wednesday evening DriveBC said on its website.

The accident, thought to have happened at approximately 5:20 p.m., is located between the two exits to Beasley Road, eight kilometers east of the South Slocan Junction and west of Nelson.

First responders, including RCMP, Beasley Fire Rescue, Tarrys Fire Department, Dr. Nic Sparrow and BC Ambulance, are on scene dealing with the accident.

Detour, only for passenger vehicles, is available using Beasley Road.

DriveBC is updating road closure information through the night.  No further details are available at this time.
