No one injured in three-car crash

No one was injured in a three-car crash in front of 799 Victoria Street (McDonald's) yesterday afternoon, according to Trail RCMP detachment commander Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.

He said the call came in at 12:10 p.m.

A Black Mazda was stopped on Victoria with her signal-light engaged to turn onto the McDonald's property,” he said. “A female in a Subaru travelling westbound in the same direction saw the Mazda was turning, and changed to the inside (left) lane to pass.”

Unfortunately, he said, she did not see the 2013 Honda in the left lane, collided with that, and the resulting crash then pushed the Subaru back into the stopped Mazda.

Five people in all were involved, but no one was injured. The Subaru and Honda had to be towed away, while the Mazda was damaged but driveable.

During the incident, one lane of traffic was blocked, but traffic was moving, albeit slowly.

Five Trail firefighters from Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue attended, arriving within three minutes of the call coming in.

The driver of the Subaru was issued a violation ticket.
