The Trail Smoke Eaters are pleased to announce the addition of Western Hockey League veteran defenceman Mitchell Prowse on loan from the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The WHL, along with Hockey Canada and the BCHL have allowed teams to loan players to the BCHL, allowing them to continue to develop until the WHL’s season begins. Prowse, a 20-year-old from Kelowna, BC has 239 WHL games of experience and has 81 points over his three year career. Prowse has played all of his games with the Victoria Royals, where last season he was an assistant captain. He also played with Smoke Eaters alumni Jameson Murray the season prior.

“We are excited to have Mitch join our program. He will bring a lot to our group and we look forward to having him lead by example, along with utilizing his experience from the WHL”. – HC&GM Tim Fragle

Prowse will join the Smoke Eaters on loan from Lethbridge until the WHL teams begin training camp. The Smoke Eaters are excited to welcome Mitchell to the City of Trail and to the Smoke Eaters.
