The Trail Smoke Eaters are excited to announce the signing of former Victoria Royals defenceman Jameson Murray.

The Kelowna, BC native comes to Trail with more than 120 games played in the WHL, split between the Calgary Hitman, Everett Silvertips and most recently the Victoria Royals. Jameson amassed 6 goals and 23 assists during his time in the WHL. The 6’3″, 185lbs defenceman brings a lot of size with him to the Smoke Eaters and as a 20-year-old brings another veteran presence to the team.

“Murray is a very important addition to our hockey club this season” said General Manager & Head Coach Jeff Tambellini. “His junior experience and two-way skill set will complement our current defensive group and fill the large void left by Trevor Isaksson being on long-term injury reserve. We believe the Smoke Eaters organization will be a great fit for Jameson and we are excited to welcome the entire Murray family to the City of Trail.”

Murray will join the team immediately in Trail and could even feature this weekend when the Smoke Eaters travel to Prince George to take on the Spruce Kings on Saturday night.
