Smoke Eaters announce regular season schedule

The Trail Smoke Eaters Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club, along with the British Columbia Hockey League, is pleased to announce the regular season schedule for the upcoming 2019/20 season. 

The Smoke Eaters will begin their BCHL season with five straight games at the Trail Memorial Centre, opening up on Friday, September 6th against the Penticton Vees in the Home Opener. It’s one of two games against the Vees, who will be in town for back-to-back games on the 6th and 7th to begin the season. 

September will be a home heavy month for the Smoke Eaters, who play six of their nine games in the month on home ice. Others dates of note include the team’s Island trips, scheduled for October and November as well as welcoming the Fred Page Cup & Doyle Cup Champion Prince George Spruce Kings to town on Wednesday, January 29th.

The Christmas break for the Smoke Eaters will span from Saturday, December 21st to Friday, January 3rd with the final game of the season coming on Saturday, February 22nd in Merritt against the Centennials. An exciting weekend is planned for early January with a home-and-home against the Vees as both teams will commemorate their World Championship teams of the past and wear throwback jerseys for the weekend.

Sunday, September 22nd – vs. Victoria Grizzlies (Only Sunday home game)

Saturday, December 21st – Beginning of Christmas Break

Friday, January 3rd – Return from Christmas Break (Home-and-home vs. Merritt)

Friday, January 10th & Saturday, January 11th – vs. Vees (World Championship weekend)

Wednesday, January 29th – vs. BCHL & Doyle Cup Champion Spruce Kings

Saturday, February 22nd – vs. Merritt (End of season) 

The Smoke Eaters and the BCHL will be announcing the details and schedule for the BCHL Showcase Festival presented by Bauer on Wednesday afternoon.

Season tickets for the 2019/20 campaign are available for purchase at the Smoke Eaters office, which is open 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday-Friday as well as online at www.shop.trailsmokeeaters.com.
