New Self Employment Program Coordinator, Amanda Murray joins Community Futures Greater Trail
BC’s South Kootenay regional community economic development and business lending organization, is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda Murray as Self-Employment Program Coordinator.
Amanda joins CFGT to lead the Self-Employment Program, a 48-week program designed to assist unemployed, underemployed and persons with disabilities start and run their own business.
Amanda brings her passion for small business, expertise in planning, organization and administration, and a unique view into client needs to the communities of Fruitvale, Montrose, Rossland, Trail, Warfield and RDKB Areas A & B. In addition to delivering the Self-Employment Program, Amanda will be providing business counselling services, and running small business workshops in a variety of topics.
Many individuals have been impacted by job loss or uncertainty as communities navigated Public Health Orders and restrictions resulting from COVID-19. While this has created challenges for some, others have taken seen it as an opportunity to generate their own employment by starting or purchasing a business. A small business owner herself, Amanda understands the challenges small business owners have experienced recently, and how much of a help Community Futures can be for someone getting started.
Eligible Self-Employment program clients will receive support and instruction while developing a business plan, as well as ongoing training and business mentorship while running their business. Contact us to find out more on how to receive a referral to the program.
