Police asking for help finding woman on spending spree using senior's stolen credit cards

Nelson Police is asking for the public’s assistance to find a woman between the age of 25- to 35-years that has been using credit cards of an elderly victim.
The woman, who is a white female, with long brown hair and wears glasses with a distinctive black vest and pink and white stripes on the shoulders, has been using the stolen credit and debit cards that has cost the victim most than $3000.
Police have reviewed video footage of the female in various stores, but welcomes any information from the public.

Police asked to assist to help stop foster son smoking pot
Officers from Nelson Police Department received a rather odd call Saturday when a foster mother contacted dispatchers with information that her foster son and friends were smoking marijuana in his bedroom.
Once NPD members realized one of the friends was a 20-year-old known to them, bound by conditions of release from earlier charges to abstain from alcohol and drugs, officers attended the scene.
When officers arrived they asked the man leave the room when a baggie of marijuana was noted sticking out of his pocket.
As one police member reached to retrieve the pot the male begged to be allowed to leave with it.
He was told that was not going to happen and then tried to get it back from the officer.
The man was arrested and then attempted to bargain his way out of a charge by turning over the second baggie of marijuana he had hidden in his pocket to the officer.
The male was transported to Nelson Police cells and is being held for court on Tuesday to answer to charges of breaching his release conditions and possession of a controlled substance.
Close call for NPD officers leads to impaired charge
In the early hours of Saturday (March 2, 1:30 a.m.) officers on patrol were met with a surprise when a vehicle crested the hill in the 1100 block Front St in the wrong lane.
Officers narrowly avoided the vehicle and managed to warn another member in time to get out of the way before it struck him.
The vehicle, continuing as if nothing had happened, was stopped and the driver was found to be under the influence and charged under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act. His passengers offer the excuse that he was from England and was merely confused. It was unknown how long he had been travelling in the wrong lane and it was only by luck he did not run head on into someone.
Road check leads to arrest of wanted Alberta man
A traffic safety road check Thursday (February 28) in the 300 block Hall Mines Road had police stop a 27-year-old male with no seatbelt on and no identification.
During the check stop police found the man was wanted in Alberta and was bound by conditions to remain in the province.
He was arrested and put before a judge to answer to these breaches of his release and warrants.
The male was held in custody and will be transported back to Alberta forthwith to deal with his charges.
