Trail market filling up fast

The City of Trail and the Trail & District Chamber of Commerce say vendor space is filling up in the Trail Market on the Esplanade for the summer of 2013, with over 50 per cent of the spaces already allocated for the full year.
Because the event achieved such tremendous success in 2012 with over 6,000 visitors and 125 different vendors, the Trail Market on the Esplanade is anticipated to be an even busier.
“The market was a huge success last year and we are very excited to showcase our City with this event again this year,” says Eleanor Gattafoni-Robinson, City of Trail councillor. “Many of the vendors who travel to various markets around the Kootenays told us the Trail Market on the Esplanade is the best one they’ve ever attended because of the million dollar view and the social atmosphere.”
Beginning June 7 until Oct.11, the Trail Market on the Esplanade will occur every two weeks on Fridays from 10 am to 2 pm. Several vendors, selling a variety of items such as clothing, jewelry, soaps, crafts, pottery, food, beverages and much more, will be set up along the picturesque Esplanade starting at the end of Spokane Street all the way down into Jubilee Park.
“We are more than happy to be able to help organize The Trail Market again this year.” says Norm Casler, executive director of the Trail & District Chamber of Commerce and market committee member. “We will be encouraging our members and all downtown shop owners to use this as an opportunity to drive even more business to the downtown core by holding sidewalk sales, running promotions, and handing out coupons or flyers at the market.”
Vendors for this year’s Trail Market on the Esplanade can book space for 10 markets in advance, resulting in one free booking. As well, more spaces with electrical power will be available this year (multiple advance bookings do not apply) for an additional fee. Regular spots can be booked for $20, and spots with power are $25. And, Trail & District Chamber of Commerce members are eligible for a 10% discount for any market bookings.
