Foul play not currently suspected in sudden death of 17-year-old Ross Spur girl

Police do not, at this time, suspect foul play in the sudden death of a 17-year-old Ross Spur girl, according to Trail RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich
“On July 20, just after 1 a.m., Trail & Greater District Detachment General Duty members, responding to an 911 call, attended a residence located on Faulkner Road, in Ross Spur … to assist a 17-year-old female in distress,” Wicentowich said.
“The female was found to have life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, in Trail.”
Wicentowich said the girl was pronounced dead at the hospital.
“The Kootenay Boundary Regional Detachment General Investigative Section and Crime Reduction Unit, along with the Nelson Forensic Investigation Section, are investigating the cause of the female’s death.”
At the same time, he said, a 28-year-old Ross Spur male who was in the residence was taken into custody by police on an outstanding unendorsed arrest warrant for an incident stemming from an unrelated event (charges were for obstruction and failure to appear)
“The male is due to appear in Castlegar Provincial Court, in Castlegar, BC, at 9 a.m., on July 22.”
