UPDATE: Krestova incident tied to gun theft from Trail museum

Laurence Darren Charles McKay, 35, of Krestova, is facing three counts of Attempted Murder, one count of Committing an Assault while in Possession of a Weapon – (firearm), one count of Uttering Threats, and one count of Possession of a Firearm while prohibited from possessing a firearm.
When McKay was arrested, police also found in his vehicle a gun stolen from the Trail Museum during the late night/early morning of July 28 according to RCMP Sgt. Darren Oelke.

A Krestova man is facing a laundry list of charges, including three counts of attempted murder, after an incident Friday.
Inspector Tom Roy said that on (Aug. 5) at 4:10 p.m., Nelson RCMP responded to a firearms complaint at a residence in Krestova.
“It was reported a 35-year-old male had uttered threats and pointed a firearm at other persons in the residence who fled for their own safety and called police,” Roy said. “Police subsequently located and arrested (him) without incident … after locating his vehicle in the Thrums area on Hwy 3.”
Roads leading into Kerstova, including Pass Creek Road and the Crescent Valley Bridge, were blocked off by police during the search for the suspect.
The mans first court appearance is slated for Tuesday morning in Nelson court, where he will face three counts of Attempted Murder, one count of Committing an Assault while in Possession of a Weapon – (firearm), one count of Uttering Threats, and one count of Possession of a Firearm while prohibited from possessing a firearm.
“The man remains in police custody while Nelson RCMP, with the assistance of the KBRD General Investigation Section, continue their investigation of this incident.”
