Alberta man faces charges for trafficking cocaine
Nelson Police said a man from Alberta is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on a trafficking charge following an arrest early Wednesday morning near Cottonwood Park.
NPD Sergeant Dino Falcone said the arrest happened at approximately 2 a.m. while members were conducting a routine patrol in the industrial area near Cottonwood Falls Park.
“While members were conducting routine patrols, they discovered what appeared to be a suspicious vehicle with two people loitering around it in an industrial area near Cottonwood Falls Park,” Falcone explained.
‘Upon further investigation, a 33 year-old male from Alberta was arrested for possession for the purpose of Trafficking cocaine, Possession of a controlled substance-LSD and possession of controlled substance-marihuana.”
Falcone said a significant amount of cocaine was seized.
The accused male was held in custody and is scheduled to attend Nelson Provincial Court on (Wednesday) May 31, 2017.
