Search warrant yields drugs, money, weapons
A Castlegar man has been arrested in connection with drug, money and weapons seizures, according to RCMP Acting Cpl. Kyle Plotnikoff.
“On June 8, 2018 at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Castlegar and Trail joint Crime Reduction Unit, with assistance from the Castlegar RCMP General Duty members, arrested a 39-year -old male from Castlegar for possession of a controlled substance,” he said in a press release issued this afternoon.
Subsequently, at 5 p.m. on the same day, a search warrant was executed at a 43-year-old male’s residence in Castlegar on 4th Street.
“Controlled substances believed to be cocaine and cannabis were seized along with Canadian Currency and prohibited weapons,” Plotnikoff said. “The accused was released and is awaiting a court date for September 2018 in Castlegar.”
