Castlegar man gets six months in jail after cops find stolen property
A Castlegar man is in jail after an RCMP search turned up a variety of stolen property, according to RCMP Acting Sgt. Brett Turner.
“On July 9, the RCMP Joint Crime Reduction Unit of Castlegar and Trial, along with members of the Castlegar RCMP, executed a search warrant on the 2200 block of Columbia Avenue in Castlegar,“ Turner said in a press release Friday. “The search resulted in the recovery of property that was stolen from residents and businesses in the Castlegar and surrounding area. The recovered property included a F350 pick-up truck, propane tanks, a vehicle engine, vehicle accessories and tools.“
He said a forty-four year old Castlegar resident, Wade Calvin Bradley, was subsequently arrested and held in custody on 12 charges.
On Oct. 23, after pleading guilty to seven charges including Possession of Stolen Property and Obstructing a Police Officer, Bradley was sentenced to six months in jail, including time already served. Bradley also received one year probation and is scheduled to be released in November. “
