Kick Up Your Heels at the Family Square Dance Party
The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture and Trail & District Arts Council jointly present The Family Square Dance, an experience for kids of all ages and their families to enjoy together. The show is on Sunday, March 29 at 3 pm at the Rossland Miners Hall as part of the TECK Family Series.
Round out your Spring Break fun at this high-energy, beginner friendly square dance, as you learn from the best in the business, caller and musician, Paul Silveria. Learn the difference between Do Si Do and Weave the Ring, Promenade and Swing as you Roll Away to A Half Sashay, as he plays live music on his banjo.
Paul Silveria is a unique performer with a varied skill set – you can find him calling square dances, leading jams, teaching banjo, sharing his “crankies” and performing both traditional tunes and original songs. As a community-based artist, Paul loves telling stories, sharing skills, and bringing people together and has more than a decade of experience working with children and school groups of all ages.
So, get your dancing shoes on for this 60-minute event.
Closing out the season in Trail on April 24 at 6 pm is a high-energy, one-man, circus comedy show, Circus Incognitus at The Bailey Theatre. An unforgettable performance from the phenomenal Jamie Adkins, a former member of Cirque du Soleil, using no hi-tech distractions, sees him heroically battle with everyday objects, always on the verge of disaster.
Tickets for each show are $18 and are available online at purchase.trail-arts.com, by phone at 250-368-9669, and in person at the Bailey Box Office at 1501 Cedar Ave., Trail.
