The Fifth annual Parade of Programs is all set to go at the Complex Wednesday evening, promising a fabulous night of family fun and a chance to see the many clubs, organizations and sporting groups available to Castlegar and area residents.

It runs from 5 to 7:30 p.m.,” said Audrey Maxwell Polovnikoff, recreation and cultural programmer with the Castlegar and District Recreation Department. “From 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. is free skating with our own Selkirk Saints, and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. is a free swim.”

The weight room, too, will be free from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

And get this – all the fun, free stuff isn’t even the highlight! The real draw are the dozens of local clubs and organizations on hand to provide you with one-stop registration and information for all your family’s autumn/winter activities.

Castlegar Minor Hockey will be on hand with their Hockey Swap in the Kootenay Room, where you can buy and sell hockey equipment at prices far below retail, and you can sign up for or learn about everything from Motocross to highland dance, from Judo to Rotary.

There’s always lots going on, but it can be hard, especially if you’re new to town, to know what’s on offer,” said Maxwell Polovnikoff. “I bet even people who have been here all their lives will surprised by some groups and events they didn’t know Castlegar offered.

It’s a great way to find your perfect fit for staying active, engaged and entertained.”

For more information, contact the Complex at 250-365-3386.

Note: Some participating organizations/clubs may not be named in the attached poster.
