If you love the performing arts and want to contribute to the vibrancy of your community, then consider becoming a volunteer for the Trail and District Arts Council.  Young or old, experienced or neophyte, we are currently looking for individuals to help us with the volunteer needs at the Charles Bailey Theatre.

We are half way to our goal of recruiting 15 people to help with our programming for Sunday Cinemas, Music in the park, Jazz at the Griff, Experiments in Entertainment, Teck Kids series and general theatre bar operations.

Jobs include more physical things like setting up tables, chairs and sound equipment to lighter and more social jobs like ticket taking, decorating and bar tending.

If meeting performing artists and being behind the scenes seems interesting to you, then consider helping with booking artist accommodation, providing their hospitality riders and generally welcoming them to the area.

And lastly, as part of the theatre business plan, opportunities exist for the creative mind to work with local businesses to purchase door prizes and cross-promote as well as implement an audience engagement strategy. An audience engagement strategy is anything that makes a patrons experience more memorable, more personal or longer lasting.

Whether you are looking to meet new people, cater to your love for the arts or to be part of an admired organization working on worthy projects, then what are you waiting for. Drop by the Box office at 1501 Cedar Ave Trail to sign up, fill out a volunteer pamphlet or email us at info@trail-arts.com. More information available on our website or Facebook page. Deadline to apply is August 25. See you at the show.
