No one injured in single vehicle accident outside Nelson

No one was injured when a vehicle, traveling westbound toward Nelson was struck by a deer on Highway 3A near Grohman Provincial Park in the early evening of Thursday.

Nelson Fire Department members along with RCMP responded to the single-vehicle accident that occurred at approximately 6:44 p.m. Thursday.

An eastbound vehicle was struck by the deer on the highway causing major damage to the newer model Toyota Corolla.

Two people were in the Toyota Corolla when impact occurred.

Both the driver and passenger did not suffer major injuries in the collision.

Firefighters on scene said all four airbags were deployed on impact.

Tow truck was needed to remove the vehicle from the accident scene.

Unfortunately, the deer did not survive the accident and need to be removed by highways personal.
