Accident sends postal worker to hospital
An accident in Trail this morning has sent one woman to hospital, according to RCMP Sgt. Darren Oelke.
“About 9:20 a.m., a Canada Post worker was crossing Victoria St. southbound on a green light when she was struck by a pickup truck making a left turn from Cedar Ave. onto Victoria St.,” Oelke said.
“The 58-year-old postal worker was taken to hospital by ambulance with undertermined head/neck injuries. The injuries are not believed to be life threatening.”
He said the driver of the truck was uninjured.
“The 48-year-old male driver of the pickup truck remained on scene. It appears that the driver of the truck did not see the pedestrian in the crowsswalk. He was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act with failing to yeild to a pedestrian and no insurance.”
