From the RCMP strange-but-true files: bizarre incident with local driver
The Castlegar Health Centre apparently saw a patient without patience, according to Castlegar RCMP Cpl. Dave Johnson.
“We got a call just before 10 a.m. yesterday (Monday) that a driver on Hwy 22 en route to Trail was driving at a high rate of speed and was unable to maintain their lane,” Johnson said. “Also, the back door of the vehicle was open.”
Trail RCMP subsequently pulled over the vehicle, finding the driver was a woman who had just left the Castlegar Health Centre … with her IV still attached, including the pump and pole. The pole didn’t fit in the car, which was why the back door was open.
“She was issued a violation ticket, an ambulance attended to remove the IV, and the pump and pole were returned to the Castlegar Health Centre,” Johnson said.
