Crews respond in force to early morning fire

Twelve firefighters from Trail and one from Montrose were dispatched to a structure fire early this morning, according to KBRFR Cpt. Greg Ferraby.
He said the call came in at 4:15 a.m. and crews arrived on scene at 9384 Hwy 22 by 4:29 a.m.
The situation was controlled by 5:10 a.m.
“Containers of recycled battery material ignited under the storage canopy at Retriev Technologies,” he said.
The cause of the fire is not yet determined.
