On Feb. 21-24 approximately 600 athletes from across the province participated in a variety of sports including: floor hockey, bowling, alpine skiing, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, figure skating, speed skating, and curling.

Castlegar teamed up with Grand Forks for the games to create the Kootenay Storm Floor Hockey team. They competed amongst 13 other Floor Hockey Teams while at the games. The team placed second  in C division, bringing home a silver medal!

The Storm played four games in their division, defeating Vancouver 7-3, Port Alberni 16-7, and Delta 10-3, but lost their final game to Quesnel 8-5. We are so proud of the effort these athletes and coaches put into these games.

Local Bowler Adam Kinakin brought home a Bronze Medal participating as part of a composite team with athletes out of Cranbrook and Trail Coach Jacob Plett.

The athletes made new friends and reconnected with old friends from other communities.
