Job seekers, employers and the public are invited to the grand opening of the new WorkBC Centre in downtown Trail on Thursday, June 6. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., visitors can check out the brand-new space at 1499 Bay Avenue, meet staff and discover all the services and programs offered by WorkBC.

The new centre will serve job seekers and employers in Trail, Rossland, Warfield, Fruitvale, Montrose and RDKB Electoral Areas A and B.

“We are excited to provide exceptional and inclusive employment services out of this beautiful space in a prime downtown Trail location,” says Jocelyn Carver, Executive Director of the new Centre. “Our staff will work with Community Futures Trail who will continue to offer the Self-Employment program and Career Development Services for customized employment and supported employment services.”

With in-depth knowledge of the local economy, knowledgeable staff at Trail’s WorkBC Centre are ready to provide advice and guidance to anyone looking for work or employers looking to hire. As of April 1st, WorkBC enhanced its programs and services by extending centre hours, removing EI eligibility barriers, helping clients find better jobs if their hours are unstable or if the work is not aligned with their skills, assisting clients to maintain their employment through job coaching, adding $9 million in additional supports for skills and trades training across the province, and ensuring delivery of services in rural and remote communities.

The regular hours of operation at the Trail WorkBC Centre are as follows:

8:30 to 5:30 – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday

8:30 to 6:30 – Wednesday

8:30 to 4:30 – Friday

“Everyone is invited to drop by the open house. We look forward to serving this dynamic community, building relationships and helping people find rewarding work,” said Carver.

The June 6 event is an opportunity for employers, job seekers and the community at large to find out more about the many services offered out of Trail’s new WorkBC Centre.
