The Trail & District Arts Council brings the award-winning, acoustic Marc Atkinson Trio to the Rossland Miners’ Hall on October 20 and 21 for two evenings of jazz, folk, and roots music.

Marc Atkinson is an expert acoustic guitarist described as “…a remarkable guitar player…innovative and dazzling.” A founding member of Canada’s roots/acoustic music super group, The Bills, he is a Juno nominee and winner of two Western Canadian Music Awards, including a nomination for Outstanding Album.

Marc’s internationally renowned acoustic group, The Marc Atkinson Trio, is described as “one of the top ten of the world’s working string trios.” Their album, “Marc Atkinson Trio II,” was voted one of the top five albums in North America by Acoustic Guitar Magazine.

At this performance Marc’s trio includes Jody Rutherford on guitar and Scott White on bass. The group is also joined by Cameron Wilson, a violinist and composer known for his genre-crossing virtuosity and near-limitless musical creativity. A member of Van Django and the Joe Trio, Cameron has recorded with everyone from Bryan Adams to Spirit of the West.

At this show the group will perform fun, classic, and recognizable pieces, including songs such as “Boiler Maker,” and “Caravan,” that delight the audience and showcase their skills as musicians.

All tickets are $25 and are available by calling 250-368-9669 or going online to thebailey.ca.

All shows start at 7:30 pm. Upcoming shows will operate under the current Public Health Orders, including the wearing of masks, physical distancing, and proof of vaccinations.
