BCHP investigate fatal Hwy 99 collision

On June 12, 2024, at approximately 6:15 a.m., BC Highway Patrol received a report of a serious collision on Highway 99 in the northbound lanes near the George Massey Tunnel in Delta, according to BCHP Cpl. Melissa Jongema. She said a motorcyclist ran into a car and the motorcyclist fell onto the roadway. The motorcyclist was critically injured by the rear wheels of a semi-truck and tragically has passed away.
“BC Highway Patrol is looking to speak with the driver of the semi-truck who did not remain on scene and may not know what happened,” Jongema said
BC Highway Patrol is asking for any witnesses, including the driver or company related to the semi-truck, who may have a vehicle description, licence plate, or dashcam footage of the collision or pre-collision to contact BC Highway Patrol at 604-526-9744 and refer to file 2024-932.
