Fatal House Fire in Rossland Mobile Home Park Under Investigation
Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue regrets to report a tragic fire incident that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning, resulting in the loss of life at the Black Bear mobile home park in Rossland.
Firefighters from Rossland and Trail responded at approximately 2:04 A.M. to reports of a fire engulfing a mobile home. On arrival, crews faced intense flames and smoke, and worked quickly to contain the fire and prevent extension to nearby homes. Despite the fast response times and the valiant efforts of our firefighters, the fire resulted in a fatality.
“This is a devastating incident for the community, and our thoughts are with the affected families. Our firefighters worked tirelessly under challenging conditions to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby homes.”
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the RCMP, the BC Coroners Service, in collaboration with the Fire Department, to determine the origin of the fire.
