On Wed., June 12, 2024, Jason Mulder of Trail, assisted a frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officer with the arrest of a local offender who attempted to flee in downtown Trail, according to RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.

“Mulder tripped the fleeing suspect then grabbed onto him until the officer could catch up to the fleeing suspect,”Wicentowich said. “The officer took the man into custody without further incident.”

On Thurs., Feb. 6, 2025, Wicentowich awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to Jason Mulder for his role in helping capture an offender.

It is rare that a citizen puts themselves in jeopardy and steps in to help an officer arrest an individual. We appreciate Jason’s quick actions, help, and bravery in this dynamic situation,” Wicentowich said. The certificate is well earned and deserved. His family and community are very proud of him.
