An investigation resulting in the arrest of a 60-year-old Ontario man by members of the Critical Response Unit – BC (CRU-BC) has culminated in assault and mischief charges against him, according to BC RCMP  Staff/Sgt. Kris Clark.

“On Sept. 3, 2025, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) applied for and was granted a Warrant to Search the Universal Ostrich Farm property located in Edgewood,” Clark said in a  press release. “The BC RCMP was requested to attend the farm by the CFIA to keep the peace and enforce the law while their agents conduct their lawful authority to search the property.

“On Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at approximately 6:30 a.m., the BC RCMP arrived at the Universal Ostrich Farm (UOF) to help secure the three properties subject to the CFIA search warrant. Police on site soon became aware of a report of an alleged altercation at a property neighbouring the farm. The suspect who was associated to the protest camp on the UOF, was identified and arrested without incident.”

The 73-year-old female victim received medical assistance from RCMP medics on scene.

Timothy Regan has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon, and mischief. He is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 8, 2026.
