Castlegar RCMP seek suspect in fuel theft

“If you know this person, please call police – they are a suspect in an ongoing investigation,” said Castlegar RCMP Sgt. Monty Taylor.
“On Wed., Jan.28, at 10:57 a.m. Castlegar RCMP frontline officers responded to the 4600 block of Minto Road, for a delayed theft report,” Taylor said.
He said then, on Jan. 15, at 5:05 a.m., a suspect parked his vehicle next to an unoccupied pickup truck, drilled the gas tank of the pickup truck and stole the vehicles fuel.
Castlegar RCMP have released an image of the suspect and vehicle as part of the investigation.
The suspect vehicle is described as:
- New model grey 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe
- multi-spoked rims
