RMDC: Pro D Day Workshop with Sarah Parrell: Make a DIY Coin Snatching Bank

Join guest artist Sarah Parrell for a special Pro D Day workshop to create your very own custom DIY Coin Snatching Bank! Armed with cardboard, creativity, and a bit of glue gun magic, kids will build their own custom, crank-activated banks to stash coins and tiny treasures. This workshop is available to youth ages 7+ and spots are limited, so don’t wait to reserve your spot!

Time: 1 – 3:30 p.m.

 Location: Rossland Museum & Discovery Centre
Cost: $30 or $25 for Members. All supplies and materials provided

Crafting can be messy! Please wear appropriate clothing.
Sarah is a lifelong artist with over 30 years of creative experience and a love of making art fun, accessible, and a little bit magical. Known locally as “Face Painting with Yarnia,” she has been a familiar creative presence at many community events. As the former owner of Yarnia Craft Closet, Sarah taught a wide range of art and craft classes for all ages, and has also led programs through the Trail library and the Kootenay Brain Injury Association.

With a background in mental health and supporting children with diverse needs, she creates a welcoming, inclusive space where everyone can feel comfortable getting creative—no experience required. Her workshops are beginner-friendly, hands-on, and full of personality, encouraging kids to experiment, get a little messy, and discover that creativity doesn’t have to be perfect to be fun.
