Rossland hill shut down as RCMP execute search warrant

“On June 1, 2026, The Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU) executed a search warrant at 1381/1383 Hiwy 3B, Trail, as part of an ongoing investigation into the suspicious disappearance of Mark Konrad,” said RCMP Cpl. Brett Urano. “Highway 3B was temporarily closed in both directions while the warrant was executed to ensure the safety of both the public and police officers.”
Traffic between Warfield and Rossland was rerouted through Castlegar.
“Major Crime Investigators continue to make inquiries within the communities of Kelowna, Castlegar, Grand Forks, Warfield, and Trail in relation to Konrad’s disappearance,” Urano said.
“(RCMP) are appealing to the public, and anyone who had contact with Mark Konrad during 2025, or has information related to his disappearance to contact the Southeast District Major Crime Unit Information line at 1-877-987-8477.
