A structure fire on Black Bear Road in Rossland drew nine Rossland firefighters and 12 more from Trail Sunday morning, according to Kootenay Boundary Region Fire Rescue (KBRFR) Captain Grant Tyson.

Tyson said the call came in at 10:51 a.m., with fire crews arriving eight minutes later, at 10:59 a.m.

“The home was heavily involved with fire when crews arrived,” he said. “The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire.”

The fire was considered under control at 12:06 p.m.

He said no one was injured as a result of the blaze, but there is structural damage to the building.

The cause of the conflagration is under investigation by KBRFR.
