Six young people arrested in B and E of $45,000 from Uphill home

Six young people have been identified and arrested in the residential break and enter in Uphill Nelson from Tuesday, April 26.

Nelson Police said the youths were aged 12, 13, 15, 15, 15 and 16. Approximately $45,000 worth of jewelry, electronic devices and currency was stolen in the break-in.

The youths have been released to their parents on bail with conditions that include not to contact one another, to abstain from drugs and alcohol, and all have curfews.

Charges of break and enter, theft over $5,000 and mischief under $5,000 are being recommended by police to Crown counsel.

To date, approximately $30,000 of the stolen property has been recovered.
