Search teams search to locate missing river tuber
Search teams worked frantically Sunday night for a missing tuber from the Kettle River.
Fire Chief Blair MacGregor was on site directing teams working alongside the Grand Forks Search and Rescue as the RCMP oversaw the operation.
Volunteers lined the banks and bridges of the river south of where the Kettle meets the Granby looking for the youth believed to have fallen from his tube. Shining search lights from the bridges, banks and with searchers walking the edge of the river, teams hope to find the man. The tube was located downstream by searchers, but the missing youth has not been located. Friends told the authorities that they saw the man fall just after the curve by the forks.
